This study investigates the effectiveness of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in enhancing university students’ academic writing performance, cognitive engagement, and learner autonomy. Using a quantitative one-group pretest–posttest design, 20 students participated in an AI-assisted writing intervention incorporating grammar checkers, paraphrasing aids, vocabulary enhancers, and automated feedback. Descriptive and non-parametric analyses, including the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, were conducted to evaluate changes in writing performance, while students’ perceptions were collected via questionnaires. The findings indicate significant improvements in accuracy, coherence, and overall writing quality, with reduced performance gaps among students. Learners reported positive experiences, emphasizing increased confidence, motivation, and autonomy in the writing process. Despite methodological limitations, the results highlight the pedagogical and cognitive benefits of AI integration, suggesting that AI tools can function as effective scaffolds for complex writing tasks. Implications for curriculum design and future research on long-term and diverse applications are also discussed.</span></em></div> Sofia Dwi Sanzain, Ilham, Rima Rahmaniah Copyright (c) 2026 Journal of Education Review Provision https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ https://mail.psppjournals.org/index.php/jerp/article/view/924 Fri, 08 May 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Shooting Skill Level in the Extracurricular Football Team at MTS Al-Khairat Sandana Tolitoli https://mail.psppjournals.org/index.php/jerp/article/view/950 <div><em>This study aims to determine the level of basic shooting skills in extracurricular soccer students at MTs Al Khairat Sandana Tolitoli. This study is a quantitative descriptive study with one variable without comparing or connecting with other variables. The subjects in this study were all 15 extracurricular soccer students. The data collection technique used a shooting skills test which was conducted five times for each student. The results showed that the minimum score obtained by students was 12 and the maximum score was 19, with an average value (mean) of 15.47 and a standard deviation of 1.99. Based on the results of the frequency distribution, most students were in the sufficient category with a percentage of 33.33%, followed by the good and poor categories each at 26.67%, and the very good and very poor categories each at 6.67%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the level of shooting skills of extracurricular soccer students at MTs Al Khairat Sandana Tolitoli is in the sufficient category. Therefore, improvements are needed through more structured, systematic, and continuous training programs to improve students' shooting abilities.</em></div> Rezky Ramadhan, Andi Saparia Copyright (c) 2026 Journal of Education Review Provision https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ https://mail.psppjournals.org/index.php/jerp/article/view/950 Mon, 15 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Library Management in Improving Students’ Reading Interest at SMP Jarinabi https://mail.psppjournals.org/index.php/jerp/article/view/1024 <div><em><span lang="EN">This study aims to analyze library management in improving students’ reading interest at SMP Jarinabi, Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency, Jambi Province. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation study. The informants consisted of the school principal, the head of the library, a teacher, and student representatives from Grades VII, VIII, and IX. The data were analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data credibility was strengthened through source and technique triangulation. The findings show that library management at SMP Jarinabi has been implemented through planning, organizing, implementation, supervision, and evaluation, although it remains simple and conventional. The library has supported students’ reading interest through textbook procurement, borrowing services, morning literacy activities, classroom reading corners, reading competitions, and a relaxing reading corner. Students’ reading interest has begun to develop, especially in completing assignments, finding references, and reviewing classroom materials. However, this interest is not yet evenly distributed and remains largely instrumental rather than autonomous. The main obstacles include limited non-textbook collections, the absence of full-time professional library staff, limited library space, manual administration, and restricted service hours due to the dense schedule of the integrated Islamic boarding school environment. This study concludes that improving students’ reading interest requires more strategic library management through collection development, staff training, better space organization, flexible reading access, and consistent literacy programs</span></em></div> Abdulloh Ar-Rosyad, Afriana Santosa Copyright (c) 2026 Journal of Education Review Provision https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ https://mail.psppjournals.org/index.php/jerp/article/view/1024 Mon, 13 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Washoya Learning Materials in Shaping Responsibility Character among Grade VIII Female Students https://mail.psppjournals.org/index.php/jerp/article/view/1025 <div><em><span lang="EN-US">This study aims to describe the implementation of Washoya learning materials and their contribution to the formation of responsibility character among Grade VIII female students at SMP Jarinabi, Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a field case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The informants consisted of the principal, moral education teacher, parents, and Grade VIII female students who were directly involved in the implementation of Washoya-based moral learning. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that Washoya learning is implemented through classroom instruction, teacher role modeling, habituation, disciplinary practices, and a religious school environment. The formation of responsibility character is reflected in students’ discipline, obedience to school rules, completion of academic assignments, participation in classroom and dormitory duties, politeness toward teachers and peers, and willingness to help parents at home. The study also found that teacher exemplarity, parental support, school culture, and habituation activities support the development of responsibility character. However, several challenges remain, including students’ laziness, peer influence, diverse family backgrounds, and limited communication between teachers and parents. This study concludes that Washoya learning can serve as a contextual Islamic moral education strategy that connects classical moral values with students’ daily responsible behavior.</span></em></div> Ahmad Mufid, Afriana Santosa Copyright (c) 2026 Journal of Education Review Provision https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ https://mail.psppjournals.org/index.php/jerp/article/view/1025 Mon, 13 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0700
